Learn how to use Kinesiology Tape to REDUCE SWELLING and improve LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE. This application shows the technique on the ankle, but it can be used across any area of the body where there is swelling or circulatory issues.

YOU WILL NEED

K TAPING FOR SWELLING

    1

  • Measure a strip of K Tape from the upper calf to the top of the foot.

  • Create a LYMPHATIC FAN by cutting the strip down the centre twice to create 4 tails.

  • If you’re unsure how to cut a LYMPH FAN, see our video ‘How To Cut K Tape’.

    2

  • Apply the anchor at the nearest lymph node (for lower limb this is the popliteal fossa behind the knee).

  • Lay down fans in a wave pattern with 15%-20% stretch over or around the site of swelling.

    3

  • Repeat the fanning over from the opposite site, covering as much of the swelling/haematoma as possible.

  • Rub to activate the glue and wait at least 30 minutes before starting any exercise.
