Learn how to apply Kinesiology Tape for SHOULDER POSITION and POSTURAL CORRECTION with our easy to follow step-by-step physio taping guide. You will need a partner for this one. This application provides proprioceptive feedback whenever you fall into poor posture, giving the body a light reminder to keep the shoulders back.

YOU WILL NEED

KINESIOLOGY TAPING FOR POSTURAL CORRECTION

    1

  • Cut two strips of kinesiology tape, measured from the front of the chest to the mid-back, and round the edges.

  • Retract the shoulder blades, creating good posture.

    2

  • Take your first strip of tape and rip the backing paper at one end, creating a small tab.

  • Apply this tab to mid clavicle with 0% stretch.

  • Giving a light pull on the tape (around 50% stretch), apply the strip coming over the top of the shoulder.

  • When the shoulder is slumped, you will feel tension on the tape where is is restricting the movement and providing proprioceptive feedback.

    3

  • Repeat on the opposite shoulder.

  • Wait at least 30 minutes before beginning exercise.
