YOU WILL NEED

HOW TO STRAP A THUMB

    1

  • Using Zinc Oxide 3.8cm.

  • Keeping the wrist in a neutral position, lay your anchor around the base of the wrist.

  • Alternatively, you could use 5cm TEAR EAB for the anchor (it has greater flexibility).

    2

  • Using Zinc Oxide 2.5cm, or EAB 2.5cm if you want additional flexibility.

  • Abduct the thumb.

  • Apply Zinc Oxide/EAB from ulnar styloid, wrapping tape around the thumb, pulling the thumb back towards the palm (away from the movement you want to restrict).

    3

  • Repeat your Zinc Oxide/EAB strip 2-3 more times until you have achieved the required stability, slightly overlapping each time.

  • Re-anchor around the wrist to secure the application.
