So you want to know how to use Hypafix a.k.a. SPORTTAPE FIXATION TAPE?
SPORTTAPE FIXATION TAPE is a cost-effective alternative to Hypafix or MeFix. Offering the same stretch properties, improved breathability and less ‘rolling-up’ at the end of the roll.
SPORTTAPE FIXATION TAPE has been designed with the pitch-side therapist in mind, offering a more affordable dressing retention tape.
Hypafix is very easy to use but does need some pre-taping preparation. We recommend that you cut any strips of Hypafix/FIXATION TAPE in advance to save you time in the clinic, or on game-day.
HOW TO USE HYPAFIX – TAPING APPLICATION
1. MEASURE & CUT YOUR TAPE
Measure the length of FIXATION TAPE that you are going to need, and cut it to size. Larger areas such as the shoulder and quad may need a 10CM FIXATION TAPE.
If you are nearing the end of the roll, the tape will want to roll back up. Rolling the tape in the opposite direction helps to keep the tape flat, making it easier to measure, cut and apply.
2. REMOVE BACKING PAPER
The backing tape is cut down the centre, making it easy to remove once you’ve cut your strips. Simply peel away each side to reveal the adhesive.
If you are working with a long strip of Hypafix, we would recommend sticking one end to a bed or bench to help you maintain control over the roll as you peel it.
3. APPLY THE TAPE
The final step is to stick your tape onto the skin. Place it at the same angle that you are going to stick your ZINC OXIDE TAPE over the top, making sure you have enough width of Hypafix to cover the entire area that is going to be taped above.
