Think Touch Rugby’s just a warm-up before the tackling starts for kids? Think again. Fast, competitive, and seriously on the rise, it’s one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports and England are leading the charge, particularly on the European scene.
We’re really proud to now be the official tape supplier for England Touch. As long-time supporters (and former players ourselves), it’s a partnership that feels right at home. So, let's shine a little bit of light on one of our latest taping partners...
ENGLAND TOUCH RUGBY:
WHO ARE ENGLAND TOUCH?
England Touch (@englandtouch) are the people making Touch Rugby happen in this country. Properly happen.
They’re the sport’s national governing body, which basically means they run the show: organising competitions, building the player base, and getting England teams ready to take on the best in Europe (and beyond).
But what makes them stand out is how much they care about growing the game from the ground up. Whether you’re brand new to the sport or chasing international caps, England Touch are there pushing it forward. It’s competitive, yes, but it’s also inclusive, fast-paced, and way more accessible than most contact sports. They’ve created a space where anyone can get involved, no matter your age, gender, or experience. And judging by how quickly it’s all growing, a lot of people are doing just that.
TOUCH RUGBY - THE SPORT YOU THINK YOU KNOW
Let’s be honest, a lot of people still think Touch Rugby is just a warm-up for the “real thing.” Something kids play at school before they’re big enough to tackle. But the reality couldn’t be more different. Touch is fast, skilful, and seriously competitive and right now, it’s one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports.
What makes it so appealing? For one, it’s no-contact, which means far fewer injuries and a lot more longevity. You’ll see people playing well into their 40s and beyond, but don’t mistake it for being soft. It’s quick, technical, and non-stop, so you’ll still be blowing after the first few minutes. It’s also incredibly inclusive. There are mixed teams, different age categories, and a strong community vibe that makes it easy to get involved, whether you’re just starting out or returning to sport after some time off.
It’s the kind of sport that gives you all the things people love about rugby. The team spirit, the movement, the energy, but without the bruises. And with more clubs, tournaments, and players popping up across the country every year, it’s clear that Touch has found its place. Not just as an alternative to contact rugby, but as a brilliant sport in its own right.

FROM SUPPORTERS TO OFFICIAL SUPPLIERS
We’ve had a lot of respect for England Touch for a long time and we’ve even worked with them a few times over the years. So becoming their official tape supplier felt like the next logical step. It’s a partnership that just makes sense.
Touch is a sport that demands quick direction changes, constant movement, and serious stamina, so reliable support and recovery tools are a big part of keeping players on the pitch. From Kinesiology Tape for muscle support to Zinc Oxide Tape for fingers and ankles, tape plays a bigger role than people might think. In a similar way to full contact rugby union, tape is pretty important.
We’re proud to be supplying the England squads with the same tape we use across elite sport, helping them stay fast, mobile, and ready for whatever the game throws at them.
More than anything, we’re just excited to back a sport (and a team) that aligns so closely with what we’re about — performance, community, and doing things a little differently.
WHY THIS SPORT MATTERS TO US
For us, this isn’t just another partnership. SPORTTAPE actually has deep roots in Touch Rugby. Our founders, Carl and Kate-Anne, both played and competed in it for years. It’s a sport that shaped how they think about movement, performance, and looking after your body. All the stuff our tape is built around.
That background is a big reason why this collaboration feels so natural. We understand what Touch players put their bodies through, and what they need to keep going, whether it’s support during a tournament weekend or something to keep the niggles at bay during training. We’ve been there. So being able to support England Touch in an official capacity is more than just a nice logo on a kit bag, it’s a bit of a full-circle moment.
Another thing that you may not know about the sport is, even at the top level, men and women can actually play together. Which, nowadays, isn't something you see very often. It has this weird sense of community that really draws you in.
With England Touch growing the game at every level, and more people getting involved in the sport each year, we’re excited to be along for the ride. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just curious about giving it a go, now’s a great time to get involved.
We’re proud to be supporting a team, and a sport, that’s all about community, movement, and doing things differently. Watch this space. And if you have any questions about how to tape for Touch, get in touch. We're happy to help!
