Foam Tape

Foam Tape is applied over friction-prone areas like the back of the heel, the sides of toes or bony knuckles before rigid strapping goes on. It creates a buffer between skin and tape, which can help prevent blisters, corns and calluses forming over repeated sessions.

Not compulsory. But it’s a step most physios and sports therapists won’t skip. If you’re taping the same area regularly, or working over a bony spot that takes pressure, Foam Tape can go a long way towards protecting your skin through the season.

Tear a strip to length by hand. No scissors needed. Press it flat over the area you want to protect and keep the edges flush with the skin. Then apply your rigid tape straight over the top as normal.

The foam simply sits between the skin and the strapping so the friction has somewhere else to go.
